And I learned what I need to emphasize my opinion.

because I think it use number which we could imagine easily.

Today Rab taught us how to do a survey.
Last semester, I just research on the internet or quote from books.
However in this time, we need more research.

For example, ask to corporation, government and professor.
And also we could do a survey in a class, school and in a town.
The convenient way is to use google tools!

Today we start to research about our topic.

then I found interesting information,
which is '' Japanese food-sufficiency rate is low'' is not true!

I don't know it is sure or not.
So I need to research about it more.

My topic is '' Japanese food sufficiency rate.''
Japanese food-sufficiency rate is really low.
We eat so many soy beans products, however most of it is imported from U.S.A and China.

Everything is owed by someone, for example education, water and air....
Nobody allow to pollute, however corporation pollute environment.

I'm surprised at happy birthday song owed by company,
and it cost 10000$ when use it on TV or movie...

Everything can be make benefits.
the more much times children ask to parents, the more corporation gain a benefit.

I haven’t　written this blog for two month.

First of all, from this semester we welcome new member Jamie and Rui!

we watched a documentary DVD called ~

it was including global warming, advertising, consume ....

i was surprised some part of this movie...

corporation just care about their profits,

it doesn't matter that consumer had bad effect or not for them

for example, The Body Shop i often use their product, and they said it is organic and corporate to the environmental problem and support children .

what should we believe!?

15th July

Today we learned how to organize Paragraph again.

Too much using of it and they makes reader feel boring.

Off topic must not put on a paragraph. It makes us confusing.

Our writing class left only 2 classes,
so I must finish my essay completely and check to find some mistake.

Today we learn how to quote information.
We have to keep some rules, so we must check my essay carefully.

And I must change expression depends on situation.
We chose quotation style from MLA, APA and Chicago.

1st July

Today we learned how to quote information from books and web cite.
Zotero helps us to cite information easily.
We can choose from APA , MLA and Chicago, but Chicago is the most useful!
When we quote some information, we have some rules.
For example we don't have to use wikipedia,
but, f we do, we have to reference link which put on the end of the page.

HW is reading text book from p44 to p46

24th June

Firstly, I learned how to write concluding sentence.
I can choose the way depend on my topic sentence.
If I write a surprising topic sentence→I can repeat it again.
If topic sentence is general and not surprising →I should summrize my opinion.

Secondly, how to reference information.
I must put information, year, author's name , data and page.
I must not trust Wikipedia! I should quote from government web site.

17th June

Today I learned what topic sentence is good.
When I write a topic sentence I need controlling ideas the following sentences.

And also supporting sentence is important to understand the paragraph.
I must consider who is the reader and control my ideas.

Today I learn rule of academic writing.

• No contraction
• No personal- if we write own experience we can I or my...
  
• No sexist terms
  
• Not use ''and so on''
• No casual Words
  
• No phrasal verb
• Not to ask question

I have to rewrite based on these rule!

Today I learned how to share my documents with my partner.
We can comment and check our e-potfolio each other.
If I change our format, I can work on micro office word,

however we can't use internet!!

When we write a essay, I must not use personal pronounce ,such as ''I'' and ''we ''...!

deadline of our essay is July 15th.

1.Attention Getter
We should quote from statistics, famous person and famous words. It is need to be shocking surprising,humor.
And also when we quote statistics, it is good to change a number that we can imagine easily, because it has more impact!

I'm so sorry it's too late to write this blog....

Last time, I learned how to write essay. I need topic, claim and reason.
I have to write 5 paragraph essay,
1. intro 2body 3 body 4body 5conclusion
and each body needs 3 reason, it is called rule of 3!


We tell own research question to everyone and share information.
My research question is '' Japanese should have more rests''
I couldn't tell well at that time, but what I want to research and write is
sometimes Japanese is said that Japanese work too hard.
For example, student have a lot of things that they have to do everyday..

Firstly we downloaded Firefox. I have used Firefox before, but I didn't know Firefox has a lot of useful functions!
After that we downloaded add-ons for firefox. That is Zotero, Google toolbar, Definition, Rikaichan, X-marks and Pronounce. I couldn't finish all work at school, so I did rest of work at home, then I realize firefox is more useful and faster than internet explorer!

First of all, he told us about his house. I also lived in log house so I know it is very Eco-friendly and comfortable!


Today we learned how to use google books, made a blog , google group and calender.
We must do everything in English, and we have to do everything on the Internet! I'm not get used to using computer so much. At first I couldn't keep up with, but finally I could understand.


I think I could improve my writing skill, and also computer skill in this class...

first day of writing class 8/April/2010

Rab show us how to go on writing class. I used to use Microsoft Office and yahoo, so I didn't know how useful google is!

We had three homework. Firstly, we have to make g-mail account and we must add my name on it. Secondly we have to prepare USB. Thirdly we have to think about topic of essay, and we must consider about five points.

He said when we write a essay we should help each other. I'm not good at writing essay in English, so I want to improve my skill through this class.
